Research Statement

Currently on sabbatical leave

Professor Kruger conducts research on non-equilibrium in partially ionized gases at atmospheric pressure and laser plasma diagnostics.

He is the author of over two hundred papers on plasma physics, chemical kinetics, fluid mechanics, radiative energy transfer, combustion, magnetohydrodynamics, and optical diagnostics. He is the co-author of the textbooks Physical Gas Dynamics and Partially Ionized Gases. He has served as Associate editor of the AIAA Journal, as Chair of the Hearing Board of the Bay Area Air Pollution Control District, and as a member of the Environmental Studies Board of the National Research Council. Professional society memberships include AAAS, the American Physical Society, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
