Robert J. Madix

Title:Professor Emeritus
Department(s):Chemical Engineering

Research Statement

Madix studies the chemical reactivity of molecules on solid surfaces which are well-characterized in structure and composition. His work with reactions between organic molecules and both metal and metal oxide surfaces helps determine the interrelationships between the electronic structure of the surface and the manner in which chemical bonds are broken and formed in catalytic reactions.
