OPPORTUNITY JOB FAIR 2009
presented by Stanford engineering diversity programs

Welcome!

The Opportunity Job Fair (OJF) is a career fair and reception sponsored by the Stanford School of Engineering and held on campus in late January each year. The fair is produced exclusively for current Stanford engineering and science students.

Program

The OJF hosts high-technology recruiting corporations and agencies from throughout the United States that provide products and services employing engineering, science, and math disciplines. The technology student body at Stanford is invited to the Fair to meet with the attending organizations. Although all Stanford technology students are invited to the OJF, those from underrepresented groups (minorities and women) are especially encouraged to attend.

The OJF is composed of two events: the career fair itself and a reception held the afternoon before. The reception typically features an address by the Dean of the School of Engineering, a keynote address relevant to the engineering curriculum and graduate student exhibits.

Management

The OJF is produced by volunteers from four student technical societies:

  • The American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES) Stanford Chapter
  • The Stanford Society of Black Scientists and Engineers (SBSE)
  • The Stanford Society of Women Engineers (SWE)
  • The Stanford Society of Chicano/Latino Engineers and Scientists (SSCLES)

These volunteers form a committee that plans, organizes, and produces the career fair and the reception.

Dr. Noe Lozano, Associate Dean for Student Affairs and Diversity Programs, serves as faculty advisor.

    Registration

Registration is by invitation. Invitations will be mailed to former attendees and other interested organizations in mid August 2008. Registration is on a first come first serve basis.

The registration fee is $1000 per table.
