Giving to Engineering
The Dean's Fund
Dean's Fund donors contribute unrestricted annual gifts of $10,000 or more. They provide the principal source of discretionary gift support for Stanford Engineering. The impact of the Dean's Fund is crucial for:
- providing start-up funds for new faculty. Faculty who have received such support include Jack Baker, Jennifer Cochran, Karl Deisseroth, Charbel Farhat, Sarah Heilshorn, Nick Melosh, and Amin Saberi.
- jump-starting new academic opportunities, such as the China internship program, in which graduate students experience internships at technology companies in China.
- developing shared facilities for our faculty and students campuswide, such as the Organic Electronics Laboratory and the new science and engineering quad (SEQ2).
Benefits and recognition for gifts of $10,000 or more to the Dean's Fund include:
- annual reports on the impact of Dean's Fund contributions.
- special communications from Dean Plummer, which provide sneak peeks of upcoming activities and technological developments, and the opportunity to provide the dean with your valuable feedback and suggestions.
- invitation to the dean's annual Luncheon, where donors can meet and interact with faculty and peers while learning about the school's latest achievements.
- Special acknowledgement in the Stanford Engineering Annual Report, and the online donor roll (available in early 2009).
